Dr. Vander Straten joined the team at Avery Ranch Animal Hospitall in 2023.
She grew up in the Austin area and completed her studies at Texas A&M University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 2019 and is a proud former member of Parsons Mounted Cavalry and the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023, graduating magna cum laude.
Dr. Vander Straten's professional interests include dentistry, cardiology, dermatology, and preventative medicine. She collaborates with pet owners to tailor her recommendations to each pet's individual needs and lifestyle. She offers clear, easy-to-understand medical communication and a gentle, friendly energy to ease the stress and anxiety of vet visits for both pets and their owners.
In her free time, Dr. Vander Straten enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time with her bunny rabbit, Harlow.
